This week has been great. We have been working hard to find more people to teach and Lily is on date for baptism this week, which is great! I have been able to teach her for months, with her Mom and Grandmother also at the discussions. We are working hard to cultivate our area into one that can bring out a lot of converts.
We have had some crazy winds up here! Half our area lost power due to it, but the rain has been good, since Utah has been in a bit of a drought. There also has been a lot of smoke. One of the pictures shows how it looked like in the afternoon. You can barely see Utah Lake and usually you can see all the way across it.
This has been an interesting week. We never know who is in our area, and whom we will meet - from world renowned shooters, to CEO's, to national placing dancers - there's always something interesting behind everyone we meet. There is a lot to do here. We are working hard to meet all the members in our area, find who lives in all the apartments and teach those willing to listen. But it's also incredibly fun and uplifting. I feel like the Lord has become my personal tutor, in a sense, while I have been out in the field.
Something we are working on in our area is prioritizing and having "an eye single to God and the work". They say that what you focus on takes up about 50% of your vision, everything else is secondary. We have to realize what we're focusing on because our minds can really only focus on one thing at a time. It brings to mind what is the focus of our thoughts and what are we making secondary. Are we putting Christ and His gospel as our focus and letting everything encircle it? Or are we focusing on something else and letting Christ become secondary?
It's cool how the spirit can prompt us. We have been able to find people that are in need of service, or prayers, or just in need of an uplifting message, and we have been in the right place at the right time to provide what was needed. I know the Lord answers prayers and that He will put opportunities for us to serve, in our paths, if we look for them.
