Sister Tuatasi’s Baptism!

Sister Letara Tuatasi was baptized last week! It was wonderful.

Ryan is also ready to be baptized, but will wait until his girlfriend can come from DC in December to be here for the special day.

We were tracting through some college apartments and asked a member if we could come in and share a message. He said yes, and then we met his roommate, Matt, from Seattle, who is not a member. We asked him if he would join us and he somewhat reluctantly said,”Ok, I’ll listen to your spiel.”

He didn’t seem interested, but 2 1/2 hours later, we had answered his questions about LGBTQ concerns, blacks and the priesthood, women and the priesthood, the temple, plan of salvation, … and a lot more. Now we have talked with him twice and he is starting to read the Book of Mormon and we are excited to go back to the basics and teach him.

The mission is going well and fast!

General Conference

We, Elders Hilton & Adams, and my companion and I, watched most of the General Conference sessions in our apartment. One of my favorite talks was Elder Uchtdorf’s to the youth, about the new For the Strength of Youth pamphlet. After that session, my companion and roommates read the new pamphlet together. It’s really great!  Between sessions, I also got a visit from my trainer, Elder Kirby, who was in town visiting. It was fun to see and talk to him.

Then on Sunday, we were able to go to the Conference Center for the last session, as a Zone, with one of the Spanish Zones and our Mission President and his wife. It was awesome! We could feel when President Nelson walked into the Conference Center!

We are still working with the Tuatasi family, and their 10-year-old grandson, Gabriel Goodall. He has been reading the Book of Mormon Stories in Samoan, and really liking them. We love his comments about the things he is reading. They have committed to being baptized on Sat, October 8th.

It’s great to be a missionary!
