Shasha & Brandon's Baptism!

Hello Everyone!

We have had a full week! We had a 9 hour zone conference one day, we went on exchanges another day, and on March 26th - two youth,Shasha and Brandon Herrera,

were baptized by their uncle! Their dad approached us about teaching them. His wife is Catholic and only speaks a little English, and he had been inactive since he was 12 years old. It’s been neat to see him come back.

This past week, we were able to meet with different groups of youth and primary kids to share messages and talk about life as a missionary. We have also been planning for general conference and hopefully getting the people we are teaching to attend.  We have been constantly meeting with people, knocking on doors and introducing ourselves. We also helped someone we are teaching move to Provo, with her son. Hopefully, she will connect well with the missionaries serving around there.

Today we ended up spending a lot of the day with other missionaries playing Ultimate Frisbee, Spikeball, and Pickelball.

Life is good! Have a great week!

A district member was going home, so I made a couple pies – since it was close to pi day.

Good Things Are Happening!

 Hello!

This week has been great, as usual. Everything from putting people on date for baptism to finding new people to serve. The highlights were being able to teach someone that I've been trying to meet with for five months, and then having them accept the invitation to be baptized! Then, we were able to get some general conference tickets to give to some recent converts - which I think will love. Also, the family I taught back in Lehi will be getting sealed together on April 1st, which is incredible, and I've been invited to attend! This will be my first sealing, and I’m excited.

Unfortunately, a lot of the people we have been teaching have been sick or out of town. Another bummer was that we ended up packing again and moving back into our old apartment due to some last-minute changes by our APs. It seems that they wanted to live in a house – so that move took a lot of time and effort.

A lot of the work we have been doing this week has been centered around members, between all our messages, coordinations, and meetings. It's interesting the variety of members you meet from those who are gung-ho about missionary work to those who just feel obligated to meet us. Hope you are all doing well!

Have a great week!

Loving The People Of Utah

Hello!

These last few weeks have been crazy. Julio received the priesthood and will be passing the sacrament, which is going to be great. We currently have three people on date for baptism which is amazing.

We had a great experience last week trying to start teaching a new family, the Bagbys. We knocked on their door and they didn't answer so we left them a restoration pamphlet and left the building. We felt prompted to go back and knock on another door. Just then, the door above us opened (the one we originally knocked) and they called down asking if we were still there. We were able to run up and share a two hour lesson!

We also started teaching a great couple yesterday. The husband, Josh, has already read Saints and half of the Book of Mormon, and the wife, Kiki is from China. Along with them, there are a lot of great people we are teaching. We have been able to do a lot of service including helping people move, putting in fiberglass insulation, and doing yard work.

Being here in Utah has been great. There are amazing members here. We've met people from other countries, languages and cultures. We are currently teaching a part member family from the Philippines and another non-member family from Romania.

I'm so grateful to be serving here and to be around these nice people.
