Working Hard, Exercising Faith And Seeing Miracles!

Hello Everyone!

This week has been great. We keep finding more people to teach and we expect to find even more this week. Our mission has been all about raising the bar, growing yourself to reach new heights, finding new ways, and achieving miracles. I have been able to see it in myself and also in the missionaries around me.

Something I have been studying recently is the book of John alongside 2 Nephi. What it seems to plainly show is it comes down to us. We need to be exercising our faith. In the words of an Apostle, "there was no question about conformity or unity when the Red Sea opened to save them". Likewise, we need to be aligned with God. It doesn't matter how many miracles He performs if we don't exercise even a particular of faith. We can't be caught fishing on our Red Sea while the saints move past to safety and the forces of Satan move into our lives.

The people we are teaching come from Utah but also from other states and even other countries like Armenia, Mexico, and more. There are so many cool experiences and life stories that I have really learned a lot from. I am realizing that people know when they hear something that is true - they can feel it. One of the people we are teaching was taught that Jesus Christ wasn't the son of God and he just knew it was wrong. As we explained both God's and Christ's nature, something finally resounded in him.

I also got to attend two baptisms of people I had taught in Lehi which was amazing to see them take that step and make those covenants. Brandon and Lilly are both amazing people. I had the privilege of teaching Brandon for 6 months before I had to move.

This week we also got snow!!! It has been fun seeing everything turn white (though I admit that walking in slush isn't fun). There is so much to be thankful for and I'm glad we have this month to dedicate to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As we turn outward just like He did, we can emulate the charitable attitude He showed and bless the lives of those around us.

Staying With Hoffman In Orem/Vineyards

Hello Everyone,

I am doing well; the work is good, and the people are great! Elder Hoffman and I will be together for another transfer, which will be exciting. We're teaching a lot of people, including people from all sorts of backgrounds.

This past week has been great. We started teaching someone who had already read to 2 Nephi before we even met them, and we met some youth who want to learn more and hopefully be baptized. There are so many miracles we can have in our lives due to our faith, but more importantly, because of the love of God. I know we are His children, He loves us, knows us by name, and He has a work for each of us.

During a blessing earlier this week it became very clear that God does not just work with us, He waits for us. He knows and sees far longer down mortality and eternity than we can, and He knows when we are ready. He and his Son (Jesus Christ) really do stand at the door and knock, just waiting for us to let a greater portion of them, and their influence, into our lives.

Last week our mission released another "Why I Believe" about a man who climbed Everest. It was really inspiring. It really shows how anything is possible, and that is especially true when we put ourselves in God’s hands. Mission life is so amazing! We meet so many cool people, interact with amazing missionaries and learn to truly become disciples of Christ.

I hope your week is amazing, safe, and full of love.
